It's Friday! I am right here at Tribeca sipping my cafe latte and nibbling on my fuitcake cookie. Anthony, my hubby, ribbed me on stepping inside here. I was not receptive at first, but man (!), what a good thing to sit on the red sofa while taking time to key in these lines courtesy of the free wi-fi service of Tribeca. This is cool! It's a good thing I took with me my lappy after rehearsing my studes (actually, my actors from TAG) in school.
Oooops, there goes my message alert...hmmm, it's a text message from Aunt Rose Juan which runs:"When you share the goodness in your heart, you always end up winning, because life gives back to you what you have given. Stay nice even if others cannot."
That surely reminds me of a lot of things. But let me go a few minutes back when Anthony and I had dinner at Red Ribbon at this mall where we are holed in right now. The server didn't smile at all, she put down the plates on the table like they're 5-kilo ceramic stuff with a big thud, she rudely dragged a chair from our space and transferred it to another table. All the while, we flashed smiles and said our profuse thanks whenever she served us. THAT is staying nice even if others cannot!
Now, here at Tribeca, the people are much nicer, the place is more comfy.LIFE has given back to us the goodness (of heart) which we have just given to that Red Ribbon girl who seemed like she didn't get her fair share of her salary (today's the 15th of December, salary day, remember?).
I have to enjoy my cafe latte and finish to the last crumb of my fruitcake cookie while I reminisce my life in New York in the 90's (before the World Trade Center's Twin Towers were crushed to Ground Zero) as I look at a big map of New York plastered on one of Tribeca's wall.
Memories come racing in...Manhattan,Empire State, Trump Tower,Bronx, Harlem, Projects, Macy's, YMCA Sloane House, Stony Point, Bear Mountain,..neighbor Jersey City......
Tribeca, you're my new comfort zone.
